This patch dates back to when the squadron was based at McClellan in the 1970. A few variations were made of this patch design.
Partly embroidered on twill with a merrowed edge with the giant in Dexter. Also added is BUFF, which stands for Big Ugly Fat F#*@er, the nickname of the HH-53.

This patch is a subdued version for the 41st ARRS which was activated in January 1966 until September 1987. This patch dates from the mid 1970's & is a version you don't see very often. It also has a flaw, as JOLLY isn't normally spelled with a D! As its a BUFF patch it was made for the HH-53 crews as this was its nickname the Big Ugly Fat F****r/Fellow. It has a merrowed edge and has definitely been worn as it has threads left in from being sewn onto a flight suit or onto hook & loop.

Black Subdued Colour
1970's
This patch is unusual as its a black patch, the others used at the time were subdued & colour. Worn by HH-53 crews as it has the common term used for the helicopter with its nickname of the BUFF.
This dates from the 1970's & is partly embroidered on twill with a merrowed edge & the Giant in Dexter.
A HH-3 extends its refuelling probe to plug into the basket being trailed by a HC-130.

1971-1987
This patch dates between 1971 and 1987 when the Squadron operated HC-130's (K for the King/Crown mission) and the HH-53's with the Jolly Green Giant mission & was worn by both fixed and rotary wing crews as the units patch until it inactivated.
Manufactured by an unknown company based in Taiwan, and has a twill cut edge & is backed with paper which has Mandarin writing.
A HC-130 refuels a HH-53 in a true role of working as a team.

This is a variation of the Squadron patch, with a white merrowed edge. Made mid-1970 by the US Embroidery House, embroidered on twill with the giant Dexter.

This is a patch that dates back to c.1985 and was made by some Squadron members who were visiting Korea. Patches are easy to make in Korea, and they decided to have Gumbitty Gumby on the patch which was a bendable toy found in Korea.
