On the 6 October 1994  a HH-60G from the 33d RQS was deployed to Korea to cover SAR duties for USAF aircraft that operate from the country. At about 2015hrs during a low level night training flight the Pavehawk flew into high tension power lines at Joch Weon, south of Seoul with the loss of five crew.

  1. I don't know how long they were in country, but having spent 1 year as a PJ there (1976), many, many natural and man made dangers to an aircraft are present every flight, even if you've been flying there 5 years.
